Meet Floyd County's Wellness Coordinator


Lisa Powers, RN

Lisa began working with Floyd County as it's On-Site Nurse in 2004. She is the friendly face that employees see several times a week around the county offices that takes blood pressure and offers wellness tips and advice. She began her role as Wellness Coordinator in December 2006.

Lisa has a BS Degree in Recreational Therapy from Longwood College, Farmville, Virginia.
She worked as a Recreational Therapist for 3 years at Beth Shalom Home in Va. Beach, Va.
"I decided to further my career by returning to nursing school where I earned an Associates Degree in Nursing in 1987. My background as a Registered Nurse includes Med/Surg, Home Health Care, Rehab, and Occupational Health.After moving to Rome 3 years ago , I joined Floyd Occupational Health Services and was hired as Floyd County's On-Site Nurse, which led to the Wellness Coordinator Position."
