General Primary Results - will be posted as precincts report on Tuesday, July 15.

The Board of Elections and Registration will meet on June 23, 2008 at 5 p.m. rather than its normally scheduled 2nd Monday of the month.

Next Election:
General Primary - Tuesday, July 15

Advanced Voting for the General Primary will begin Monday, July 7 through Friday, July 11 2008. Advanced Voting for elections during 2008 will be available at two locations:

Floyd County Administrative Building
12 East 4th Avenue
2nd Floor, Commissioner's Caucus Room
and
The Rome Civic Center
400 Civic Center Drive

Advanced Voting Hours are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday - Friday

The General Primary Election is Tuesday, July 15.

The last day for a person to register and be eligible to vote in the General Primary was June 16, 2008.

Georgia Supreme Court upholds Voter ID law
Georgia law (O.C.G.A § 21-2-417) requires Georgia residents to show photo identification when voting in person.  This law will be implemented for the September 18, 2007 Special Election and all future elections. Contact your county registrar’s office to find out if there is an election on September 18 in your county.  You can also view upcoming election dates. This website is just one part of our comprehensive outreach program to assure that citizens are aware of these requirements. Electronic versions of publications and press releases pertaining to this requirement are available here, as well.  If you have questions or need more information or have difficulty getting a FREE Voter Identification Card, you can contact your county registrar’s office.
