2008 JOE ADAMS COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD: 
The Floyd County Records Division
Christie Parker, Anna Banks, Amy Liggons, Darlene Staney, Sherry McCraw, and Vickie Alexander worked tirelessly with our Christmas Parade Float, Fall Festival, Cops for Kids, Child Fingerprints, “Are you OK” donations and our Sheriff Santa. The Records Division created the ”Penny Drop”, which raised $868.92 for one of our medically disabled employees. They are just another beat in the heart of the positive effort we strive to reach through volunteerism and humanitarianism. We congratulate and thank the ladies of the Records Division, for being a positive influence and for achieving excellence in well doing!
2008 Field Operations Employee of the Year
Officer David Packer has been employed with the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office since January 13, 1996. Off. Packer is a very conscientious and dutiful employee who is very dedicated to his job. David catches a lot that would otherwise fall through the cracks, corrects mistakes or perform tasks that has helped to save time, money and effort in the Warrant Division. David is meticulous and thorough, and works diligently to ensure the proper service of warrants, extraditions, and family violence’s, as well as maintain other concerns of the office. We are proud to have David in our midst and congratulate him on a job well done!

2008 Jail Operations Employee of the Year
Dep. Chisolm has been employed with the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office since November 04, 2002. Dep. Chisolm is a very dedicated employee who demonstrates how much he loves the field he’s in through hard work and perseverance. His character exemplifies the uniqueness that is required by a law enforcement officer. Dep. Chisolm has achieved a reputation of not only raising the bar, but holding himself accountable to work, contribute, and grow to his fullest potential. We congratulate Dep. Dana Thompson was promoted to Sergeant, January 27, 2008. Sgt. Thompson has 9 years law enforcement experience and is certified as a Jail Officer and Peace Officer, Sgt. Thompson has worked in various capacities with the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office to include Jail Officer, Deputy Sheriff in the Warrants Division and Corporal. We congratulate Sgt. Thompson on a job well done!

King has worked in various capacities with the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office to include Jail Officer and as a Deputy Sheriff in the Warrants Division.
