Money Orders – Money orders are received at the jail on days of visitation and through the mail. All money orders must include the inmate’s name and ID number prior to being mailed or received by jail staff.
Bonding Procedures – Once a bond has been set for an inmate, there are basically three ways that a person can be bonded from the jail.
Property Bond – Anyone owning property in Floyd County or another county can use that property to sign the bond. The maximum amount allowed on any property to sign a bond is 50% of the value of that property. If the inmate fails to appear in court, the property is seized.
Cash Bond – Anyone can pay the bond amount in cash. This money will be refunded when the inmate appears in court and the case is disposed of. If the inmate fails to appear in court, the money is forfeited.
Bondman – You may call one of the approved bonding companies to sign the bond. The bonding company will charge a fee for signature.
