 Warehouse Responsibilites


The Warehouse is responsible for many diverse tasks. Its function is to supply Public Works Employees with those items necessary for the fulfillment of their various duties
.

Materials Management is a large part of the responsibilities of the Warehouse. Receiving, warehousing, distribution, assembly, and disposal of County materials, supplies, tools, and equipment is handled from the Warehouse.

Fleet Management is the responsibility of the warehouse. This is performed by maintaining extensive paper records as well as electronic files and a computerized database. County vehicle information is compiled for reference by all County departments. The fuels and fluids used by County vehicles and equipment is stored and recorded. The Public Works Warehouse maintains three County fueling sites.

Purchasing is also performed at the warehouse for departments included in the Public Works. Goods and services are procured for the Public Works Department at the lowest cost which meets the customers requirements for quality, quantity, delivery and conformance to specifications.

Information Managment is also handled at the warehouse. Information about county vehicles, budgets, materials, tools and equipment is received, recorded and distributed from this site.
