Sign Shop & Grounds Maintenance


SIGN SHOP

There are hundreds of different signs made and installed along county roads and at county facilities by Bill Staney and Bruce Rogers through the Floyd County Sign Shop. Sign shop crews also are responsible for the striping of roads and county parking lots.

RIGHT OF WAY HERBICIDE APPLICATION

Some 300 miles of right-of-way along county roads are sprayed with herbicide three times each year in this operation overseen by Tommy Gentry. The spraying helps reduce plant growth that otherwise could obstruct the view of motorists.

GROUNDS MAINTENANCE

Around almost every County government facility - County Administration Building, Courthouse, Law Enforcement Center, Historic Courthouse, Voting Precinct Houses, County Jail, Richard B. Russell Regional Airport, just to name a few - there are grounds that must be maintained by Clifton Cabell and his crew. The seasonal plantings at these and other locations, from the Welcome to Rome/Floyd County signs to the courthouse, help make Floyd County more attractive year round.
