 Department Employee Directory


The Administrative Staff is responsible for assisting the Chief of Police and performing managerial, administrative and specialized work functions associated with overseeing police services and departmental administrative activities, protecting life and property, and enforcing federal, state and local laws.

The Patrol Division is responsible for protecting life and property, to respond to the needs of the general public, to deter criminal activity within the community, to enforce all county statutes, ordinances and the laws and regulations of the state, and to perform investigations.

The Investigation Division is in charge of investigating crimes against persons and crimes againts property which includes homicides, assaults, rapes, robberies, burglaries, thefts and arsons.

The Rome/Floyd County Metro Drug Task Force is responsible for the investigation and control of organized crime and vice activities. These activities including the illegal sale and distribution of controlled substances, illegal gambling operations and prostitution.

The Rome/Floyd Swat Team is responsible for hostage situations, barricaded subjects, sniper situations, search/arrest warrants and VIP protection.

The Northwest Georgia Bomb Squad is responsible for responding to and neutralizing improvised explosive devices.  The squad responds to calls for service in Rome and Floyd County as well as eleven other counties in Northwest Georgia.

The School Resource Officer is responsible for assisting the school administration in maintaining school safety. The School Resource Officer is the liaison between the school and government agencies. The SRO continuously builds a positive rapport between police and students and educates students on legal issues.

The Environmental Code Enforcement Unit was formed in 2000 to address all local code ordinance violations along with State Environmental Laws.
