JOB SUMMARY: This is professional, administrative work in the development, and implementation of the Floyd County Employee Wellness Program and in organizing and coordinating a variety of health and wellness related activities. MAJOR DUTIES: Organize and implement a Floyd County Employee Wellness Program, monitor and evaluate programs, classes and instructors. Plan, schedule, organize and conduct various health and wellness related activities and services. Prepare promotional materials such as newsletters, brochures and flyers regarding classes, programs and special events; coordinate distribution of promotional materials. Make presentations to employees on wellness, health and related program issues. Provide blood pressure checks and other health related opportunities to employees. Develop a wellness resource library. Prepare and maintain various records, reports and files including plans, quarterly reports, class and program files and registrations. Utilize computer to input and retrieve information. Attend and participate in various professional conferences and seminars. Perform other related job functions as assigned. This position works under the direction of the Floyd County Manager, Floyd County Wellness Committee and the Human Resources Director. Work is performed under general supervision with the considerable latitude for ingenuity, creativity and independent judgment in accomplishing program objectives. Work is reviewed through conferences, analysis of reports and observations. This classification does not supervise other positions. The Wellness coordinator works in an office environment on a designated schedule. Travel to various work sites and/or meeting locations is required. Work is generally completed on a regularly scheduled basis, however, attendance at meetings or completion of work outside of normal scheduled hours maybe required. Expended periods of concentration and sedentary work at a work station are required. Work is subject to frequent interruptions and normal office noise. The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the position, talking, seeing, and hearing. There is some walking, sitting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling and minimal lifting associated with this classification. Ability to travel to attend meetings away from the regular work site is required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: An Associates’ Degree in health education or behavioral science and two years of professional experience in health/wellness program development and administration. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Professional certification in Health is desirable (RN). Currently hold a Georgia state driver’s license or the ability to obtain license within thirty days of employment.
