New Procedures for Rescue Groups

Standard Operating Procedure

Re: New procedures and application regarding rescues

Floyd County Animal Control is in the process of adopting new procedures regarding the rescue of animals by outside groups. On this site, you will find an application and an authorized agents list that must be filled out before any rescue can take place. This form must be filled out by groups that have rescued animals from FCAC previously as well.

To rescue an animal you will need to provide the following information:

  1. Approved Application
  2. A copy of each rescue group’s state issued shelter license
  3. An authorized agents list (a list of every individual from your group that will pick up any animals.)

This information is requested from you before your group will be able to rescue from Floyd County Animal Control. Please note that if this information is not forwarded to this department, no rescues by your group can take place. Please note that these new procedures have been put in place to protect the integrity of this department and your rescue group. While we realize the importance of animal rescues, we want to ensure the safety and well-being of the animals being rescued as well.

Once you have completed your application, please mail it or fax it to 706.233.0032:

Attention: Rescue Group Application
Post Office Box 946

Please allow at least ten (10) business days to respond with either approval or denial of your request. Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated. We look forward to working with you in the future.

Thank you for your patience with these new procedures. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact Floyd County Animal Control at 431 Mathis Road, Rome, Ga. or by telephone at 706.236.4545.

Regards,
Floyd County Animal Control
